Trip to Holland Village

The girls have Racial Harmony Day celebration on Monday. They have to wear their ethnic clothes to school. Hmm, they don't have any and I don't want them to feel out of place wearing their school uniform while their classmates are in their ethnic clothes. So off we went to Holland Village after having lunch at home.

The girls each chose a pink cheongsam but of different design at a shop in HV Shopping Centre. They looked really adorable wearing the cheongsams, lol. I wonder how come I never bought them Chinese ethnic clothes?! Lol. :P

After the shopping, the girls complained of hunger. We went to Fosters, an English Rose Cafe. We ordered a few things to share:
Baked Mushrooms with ham and cheese ($8): this was a bit salty and the portion was small and kind of pricey.
Devonshire Cream Tea ($10.50): 2 scones, a piece of fruit cake and 2 finger sandwiches - ham and tomato and a pot of tea. The scones were quite good, not too dry. It would have been better though if they use Devonshire clotted cream instead of fresh cream.
Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream ($9): the pieces of apple in the pie was big and chunky and with vanilla ice cream, nothing can beat this dessert. :)
