Brisbane Reminiscence Day 3/ Fun Day 2

Sunrise over Brisbane River
I woke up at 4:35am, trying to catch the sunrise. Due to the position of the apartment, I couldn't really catch the sunrise. But it was still fun taking photos, running from bedroom to living room and back to bedroom. :P Juliane was asleep all through that. I stopped at 5am and went back to sleep lol.

Finally woke up at 8am to have breakfast and enjoy the river view. :)
We left our apartment to meet with my ex-student, Charissa Wong at Le Bon Choix, Queens Street (close to Eagle Pier) at 10:30am.
Juliane is still very intrigued by the high tech lift :)
Treasury Casino and Brisbane Square in the day
As we were slightly early, we secured a table first as it seemed to be fast filling up with people. While waiting, we took turns to admire the yummilicious pastries and cakes lol. Soon after, Charissa came. I taught her when she was 10 years old in Primary 4 Prudence, SCGS. She still looks the same!! Only taller now haha. :P We had a wonderful time talking, laughing and reminiscing about our days in SCGS and of course, at the same time enjoying the delicious cakes! :) We had so much fun chatting away that we only parted ways close to 1pm at Queens Street Mall. Thanks, Charissa for taking time out to meet with your old teacher! :) It has been great fun meeting up and chatting with you after so many years. :) Thanks too for your offer to send me to the airport. It is most kind and thoughtful of you. :) We will see how it goes.

Juliane and I went window shopping at Queens Street Mall and bought a few things. :) We went back to our apartment at 3:30pm for a rest before we need to set out again to meet my UQ friend, Angelique and her family at 5:30pm.

Juliane still intrigued! First you place your room card under the reader and the panel will reflect your room level and also the level for gym and the pool
Our room level chosen. Please take lift D. :)
We walked to Brisbane Transit Centre which is just 3 minutes away from our apartment and took the train from Roma Street Station to Toowong Station. We were meeting my UQ friend, Angelique and her family at Sizzler for dinner. I love Sizzler! I used to frequent Sizzler once a week when I was a student at UQ. I love the salad buffet at Sizzler. It is because of my time in Brisbane, more accurately because of my time eating at Sizzler that I love to eat all kinds of salads. :)
Salads and more salads! :)
More salads and fresh fruits
Desserts! :)
Us with Angelique and her lovely family at Toowong Village
It was really great catching up with Angelique and her family. We used to go to uni together and now we both have families. :) Our friendship has spanned  over 20 years! It is wonderful to see her again and soon in Singapore when her family are coming over for a holiday in December 2013. :)
As it was only 7:30pm when we parted ways with Angelique, we took the train to Central Station. I wanted to show Juliane the Anzac Square (between Central Station and the Post Office Square). The Shrine of Remembrance and the 'Eternal Flame of Remembrance' held in a continuously lit bronze urn which can only be seen clearly at night is located there.

Juliane was intrigued by the flame and wondered why it doesn't go out in the rain. I seriously do not know what's keeping the flame continuously lit. After admiring the Shrine of Remembrance, we made our way back to Queens Street Mall and back to our apartment.

It has been a wonderful day of catching up with my student and my uni friend! Finally it is beginning to feel like a holiday. :P
