New Pet

Marieann has found herself a new pet. She promised to look after it. I had no reason to deny her from keeping it. Can you guess what her pet is? :)

Chocolate & Waffle Break

I had the most delicious hot chocolate ever! :) It's Nutella Hot Chocolate from Yellow Cup Coffee near Clarke Quay. The waffle was very good too. Sugar overload lol.
Yellow Cup Coffee evokes memories of childhood for me with the toy decors around on the tables as well as the pictures of superheroes on the wall. :)

A Storm is Brewing II

Dark rain clouds are darkening the evening sky further. A storm is brewing...
Flashes of lightning behind the clouds

I met up with a former colleague for an early dinner at Babette restaurant and bar which is a new establishment at Tyrwhitt Road. Babette is a cosy restaurant with an unpretentious and relaxing atmosphere. It serves French-Japanese fusion cuisine. The style of preparation is French and the style of food presentation is Japanese.
The side and the mains we had were absolutely delicious. The crackling pork belly whose skin was roasted to a crispy, crunchy crackling and its meat still tender was a great start to dinner.
Our mains, Duck Confit Donburi and Pork and Bacon Hamburg Donburi were amazing in taste and flavour. The meat were tender and the pickles provided piquancy to counter the richness of the meat. The portions for the mains are suitable for us ladies which is in line with Japanese food. :)
My Yuzu Iced Blended and Miso Soup with each main
Crackling Pork Belly with whole grain mustard sauce
Duck Confit Donburi: crispy duck leg confit pan-seared to perfection with pickles
Pork & Bacon Hamburg Donburi: Pork hamgur wrapped in bacon with onsen egg and pickles
The dessert, Matcha Lava Cake was a dream! The gooey matcha white chocolate goodness that flowed out from the cake together with azuki red bean and ice cream was absolutely divine. I think I can go back for this alone. :P
Babette serves delicious food and its atmosphere is conducive for gatherings with friends. :)

You Bring Me Happiness

I cannot explain why the sight of you always bring a big smile to my face!
Rainbow cake from The Bakery Chef :)
Saw The Bakery Chef by chance and decided to take a quick look. Just couldn't resist the rainbow cake calling out to me! :) The rainbow cake was fluffy and light. The infusion of passion fruit into the cream cheese was an unexpected but refreshing delight, bringing a tanginess to the sweetness. :)
The red velvet cheesecake was yummy too. I always had a weakness for cheesecake. :P The latte art of the little girl was really sweet and adorable.

Closed Door Discussion

I was invited to participate in a focus group discussion: closed door discussion. It was my first experience with a closed door discussion. I really enjoyed it very much. It was extremely refreshing to speak one's mind frankly on a topic which is close to my heart. :)

Shakespearean Play

I was a Literature student. I studied a couple of Shakespeare's works. It is interesting to know that I landed up with this one which describes me well to a certain extent lol.
You Are The Taming of the Shrew
You are fiery and feisty. You speak your mind, and you are proud of your dazzling wit.
You can be a bit of a skeptic at times. It takes you a while to warm up to new ideas and new people.

You are a challenge, and you like a challenge in return. Your soul mate is also your playmate.
While you are quite sharp tongued, your bark is worse than your bite. Deep down, you are quite sweet and agreeable.

Holiday Destination is... III

Changed from Bali to somewhere close by! I kind of decided that I should bring the girls to somewhere they have not been before and with lots of culture and history. Guess where? :)

The Cat Cafe Singapore

I finally had the chance to visit a cat cafe in Singapore. :) I visited one in Hong Kong back in 2008, called Cat Store cafe and loved it. :) At the moment, I think there are four cat cafes in Singapore. I visited The Cat Cafe near Bugis Junction. I was very lucky to get the second last table at the cafe when I arrived at 7+pm. :) I was really thrilled to see so many cats roaming freely in the cafe and I saw a grey tabby that reminds me of my late grey tabby, Starbuck Ngeow. :)
I am drawn to the grey tabby, Elly. I took a selfie with Elly. :) Elly eventually warmed up and cozied up to me and even slept in my laps. :) My late tabby was never a lap cat so it was a really great experience for me. It made me feel like getting a cat again... :P
Elly settled in and snuggled up in my laps to nap :)
Aww, so adorable
Elly is really sleeping! :P
What a position to sleep in lol
I enjoyed my time with Elly at The Cat Cafe and Elly's snuggling brought me some measure of comfort and peace. I hope the girls can experience this for themselves. I will bring the girls here in the future. :)
