Seoul Trip 2015 Day 3

For Day 3 of our Seoul Trip 2015, we took it very easy as Juliane suffered from a bad headache yesterday. At 10:30am, we were still watching National Geographic's Pigs, Wolves & Crows. It is really educational and interesting! :)
We finally left our apartment at 11am and decided to go to the nearby Bukchon Hanok Village. Even when armed with two different maps of Bukchon, we did lose our way twice. Oops. :P It was a tiring walk as there were plenty of uphill and downhill. But when we finally found our way, it was worth the effort. The Hanok traditional houses have retained their appearance since the Joseon Period and it is like walking into a frozen time zone. I am half expecting people from Joseon Period to walk out of the houses! :)

Due to taking the wrong turn twice and taking of photos, we took close to 1.5 hours to finish our shortened version of the actual Bukchon walk. We made it back to the commercial area of Bukchon around 1pm. Had a light lunch at Paris Baguette as we weren't that hungry lol.
After our lunch around 2pm, we headed back to our apartment to rest and watched more National Geographic and on the Great White this time lol. :P

We ventured out again after 5:30pm and decided to have dessert as our appetizer. We had Mango Coco Bread at Sulbing, a Korean dessert cafe. The mango coco bread had three toasted pieces of bread sandwiched together by rice cake, dribbled with lots of mango sauce and topped with mango cubes and cream. :) Either because of the iced plum tea or the temperature had dropped, we were feeling cold when we stepped out of Sulbing. We both donned our jackets and decided not to proceed to Gwanghwamun Square and Cheonggyecheon. We took a short cut through one of the Insadong alleys back to our rented apartment. There are many restaurants in the alley. Maybe we can try one of them one of these days. On the way, we bought sandwiches from 7-11 as they were really tasty and there are a lot more varieties as compared to Singapore. :)
