Final Farewell, Shashlik Restaurant

I went back to Shashlik Restaurant again to bid it a final farewell as well as to celebrate its good food and its great desserts.
Chicken a la Kiev "Imperial"
Banana Flambee
I don't think I can come back for dinner for my Baked Alaska but I totally enjoyed my Banana Flambee.
Thank you, Shashlik for all the sweet memories.

Dinner @ Halia

I was invited to dinner with Dr Maddalena Taras and CTL colleagues at Halia, Singapore Botanic Gardens. It is really nice of CTL colleagues to invite me. :) I really enjoyed myself with the great company and the good food. I was too busy chatting that I forgot to take photos of the food except for the desserts which were absolutely delicious. :P
Die Die Must Have Chocolate - Really, that's the name of the dessert!
The Other Harbour - mango mousse, yoghurt sherbet, mango, pomelo
It is the first time I am having a meal at Halia even though I have lived next to SBG for the past 16 years. I think I will be visiting Halia more often. :)

Green House

There couldn't have been a better result than this. LOL.
You Should Live in a Green House
You are a peaceful person who always seeks out quiet and solitude.
You love nothing better than a long walk, and you probably prefer to live near nature.
I live next to the Singapore Botanic Gardens so I guess it counts as being near nature. :)

You are a good listener, but you always need down time to recharge after being around others.
You usually fit in anywhere. You blend well, and you're happy to sit back and observe.

I am a counsellor so I have to be a good listener. I like nothing better than to sit back and observe the world and people around me. :)

End of an Old-School Icon - Shashlik Restaurant

I read in the newspaper that Shashlik Restaurant is closing at the end of the year back in July. I remember frequenting the restaurant during my younger days. It is sad to see it go.
We finally took time today to have lunch at Shashlik Restaurant before it closes on 30 November 2015. We ordered the appetizers: Escargots in garlic butter and Stuffed Mushrooms with Smetana and desserts: Peach Melba and Cherry Jubilee to share. We ordered our own soup and main course.

My main - Stuffed fish with mushroom sauce

Dessert: Peach Melba & Cherry Jubilee. YUMMY!

The dessert, Cherry Jubilee was the highlight of our lunch. Absolutely delicious! Wanted Baked Alaska but it is only for dinner. :(
Farewell, Shashlik Restaurant. I will miss you.

The Last Boat's Leaving by Bachelorette

Here is the haunting tune that I kept hearing whenever the trailer for the final season of Haven is played on tv.

My parents are off again. They returned in mid October after a 3 months' stay in UK. Now they are going to Xiamen for a month and a half. Yes, my parents are frequent flyers. :)

Green Corridor Railway Walk

Marieann and I went for a walk this morning on the Green Corridor Railway Walk from Holland Road to Bukit Timah Train Station and back to Holland Road again. We started off at 7:45am and arrived back at Holland Road again close to 9:30am. It was 3.2km of walking! A milestone and a feat for Marieann lol. Well done to both of us!
