Hong Kong Trip 2015 Day 1

Juliane and I arrived just before 6:30am at Changi Airport to drop off our luggage as I have already completed the check-in online. After that, I took photos of the Star Wars exhibits to my heart's delight! :P
Our flight, SQ860 departed on time from Gate A10. The flight was full and uneventful, that is, no turbulence. I only watched Maze Runner: The Scorch Trails on the flight as there wasn't enough time for a second movie.
My diabetic meal - apple salad, steamed fish in tomato sauce and rice and jello
Juliane's child meal
We arrived on time at 12:20pm but it took a while to clear immigration as there were a number of flights arriving around the same time. :( We managed to collect our luggage, bought the Octopus card (travel card, similar to our ez-link card but it can also pay for purchases in fast food restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, shops, etc) and were in our limo ride by 1:30pm.

We arrived at our hotel, Butterfly on Prat just after 2pm. Our room was not large (I think it is the norm in HK, unless you are staying in the suite) but cosy enough for two of us and what's convenient for us is the microwave in the room. :) There was also a Handy smartphone with unlimited 3G mobile internet in the room which we could bring out with us. A very handy gadget!

An odd corner but just perfect to put all our luggage

After a little rest, we set off for the Ladies Market at Mongkok via the MTR. The Handy smartphone came into use immediately. Although the MTR Tsim Sha Tsui is 3-5 minutes away from our hotel, I got lost once I stepped round the corner from the hotel. :P Thank goodness for Google map on Handy but it took me a while to get used to reading maps because I am not a map reader haha.
We managed to find our way to the Ladies Market just before 4:30pm. It wasn't crowded which suited us fine, probably most tourists go during the evening and night time. Juliane pick up some souvenirs for her friends and herself. Nothing caught my eye though.
We proceeded to the Goldfish Market since it is nearby the Ladies Market. There are plenty of pet shops in the area of the Goldfish Market. The kittens and puppies are so adorable! Wish we could bring one home. I really enjoyed the Goldfish Market. It is really hypnotic watching the fishes swimming in the bags.
Buildings at Tung Choi Street
After Goldfish Market, we returned to Tsim Sha Tsui and went to Tsui Wah Restaurant (Cha Chaan Teng) for dinner. The one we went to was closed for renovation and so we went to the one next to K11. The service was fast and efficient. I only just ordered and the orders arrived in less than 5 minutes! We really enjoyed the food. :)
Yummy!! Scrambled Egg with shrimps rice, Shredded chicken and veg bee hoon, Spinach and shrimp in fish soup
A Hello Kitty cafe on the way
The Force is strong, even in the Jewellery shop!
Anyone for a gold-plated R2D2?
It has been an exciting day. Tomorrow, we are off on our hop-on-hop-off Big Bus tour. :)
