Coincidence?!

I knew it. Once I heard about the plane crash in Colombia, I knew someone is going to react. True enough, Marieann said to me, "Did you know there is a plane crash?". 
Sigh. The timing is really too coincidental. Every time, I am about to go on a mother-daughter trip with Juliane and trying to persuade Marieann to come with us, an air disaster happens! It only further strengthens Marieann's belief that air travel is not safe. :(

Umbrella Shelter

I had a meeting at MOE, North Buona Vista in the afternoon. After the meeting, I stepped out only to find it drizzling. I quickly sought shelter under this gentleman's umbrella while I scrambled to get out my own umbrella. Thanks for the shelter, kind gentleman. :)

Meditation

I cannot do meditation because my mind wanders too much. But maybe with guided meditation, who knows... 

You Should Practice a Guided Meditation

You tend to be a restless person, and while you thrive in chaotic situations, you sometimes need to get away. When relaxing on the beach or looking out from a mountain top is not possible, you can still imagine yourself in those scenes. Your body is good at responding to imagery as it does to real experience. And you just may need a little guidance to get you there. Life can always be too much, but life can always wait. If you close your eyes, you can just imagine the sand between your toes.

SCGS Open House 2016

We went to the SCGS Open House 2016, 9am - 2pm. My former colleagues were tickled to see me there with my younger girl. We were fake new parent and child haha. 

School Selection

Now that we have the PSLE results, it is time to select the secondary schools, especially for 2nd choice to 6th choice. Even though her 1st choice will be SCGS, it doesn't mean we don't put thought into the other choices. We have to select just as carefully. 

PSLE 2016 Results

The PSLE 2016 results are out! Even though this is my second child who has gone through PSLE, it does NOT get any easier. I feel so anxious and it feels like I am the one collecting the results!

Surprise Birthday Celebration

We planned a surprise birthday celebration for our friend and colleague, Liyana. It was not easy trying to get her to go to the chill room where we have lay out the birthday cake and pressies! I had to trick her that I needed her help to remove some stuff from the room. Haha!

Farewell

My fellow counsellor and colleague, Shulian whom I have been working with for the past 6 years in my counselling school has decided to further her studies. As such, she will be leaving the school at the end of the year.
It is really sad to see a fellow counsellor leave but at the same time, I am happy for Shulian that she is continuing with her learning. 
All the best in your studies, Shulian. May our paths cross again. 

My First Invited Keynote!

Another milestone in my academic career. 
I was invited to give a keynote at a secondary school. It is my first keynote on Student-Involved Assessment: Student Self-assessment. What an experience! I was video-recorded lol. :)

It is supposedly a supermoon because the moon is at its closest point of approach in its orbit around Earth. Unfortunately there was cloud cover and the moon can't really be seen properly.

Mind Break

I am taking a break after two weeks of prep and execution of a 3-day Educational Neuroscience Symposium 8-10 November 2016! Time for some arts, history and culture to stimulate the other parts of my brain at National Gallery Singapore. Most happy to meet a colleague and friend here too, Wei Shin.
